Cause of acid erosion in teeth

You have seen it on television commercials, acid erosion in teeth. Yet many have asked if this is real and if it is real, what causes it? Acid erosion is real. Erosion of the teeth can cause color change and change in sensitivity of your teeth. An increase in the gap between teeth can also occur.

So what causes acid erosion? Is the idea of eating healthy food actually hurting your teeth? Fruit drinks, acidic fruits such as oranges can erode your teeth. Also drinks such as soda can erode teeth. Though is is not an excuse not to eat healthy, as there are ways to prevent the erosion.

One way to prevent the acid erosion is dairy products like milk. Fluoride gels  and sodium fluoride mouthwashes are good methods for naturalizing the erosion. One myth though is brushing immediately after you eat.That myth is false. Rinsing with water or mouthwash is actually more effective than brushing.
